Join students and parents from Takoma Park Elementary School (TPES) for a fun packed day of mural painting, a play-based nature workshop in the woods and some spring planting.

Children can join Childrens Nature Educator and Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Laura Rose, for a children’s play-based nature workshop. We will be taking a gentle walk through the adjoining forest, playing awareness games , learning new songs, perhaps collecting items for a craft project, and hearing Native American Tales. Bring a bandana for your child to use and a notebook if they have one. This activity will run from 2pm to 4pm and children can join for some or all of it.

Kids and adults will also be able to help paint the mural, which will act as a welcome sign to the newly installed Nature Walk. We’ll also be planting up more of the native nature walk we established last year, and perhaps potting up some bareroot shrubs.

So come and help paint the wall and do some planting with us.
